William Aylett died from wounds on 27th December, 1914 after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd Royal Scots battalion were part of 8 Brigade, 3rd Division that had arrived in France at the beginning of the war and which had been involved in much of the fighting since then.
